The Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is seeking a psychologist to join the Comprehensive Health Evaluations for Cincinnati's Kids (CHECK) Center, an internationally recognized foster-care clinic, to support expansion of our consultation and trauma therapy services. The CHECK Center is a multidisciplinary clinic with an established research-practice partnership that includes psychologists, pediatricians, social workers, nurses, dentists, and students.
Responsibilities for this position include providing outpatient consultation and intervention in the CHECK Foster Care clinic for young people in foster care up to age 21 years and outpatient evidence-based trauma therapy for youth ages 3-18 and their families. Consultations include brief diagnostic assessments to make treatment recommendations, brief individual and family interventions, and preventative care for infants through adolescents presenting with a history of maltreatment and a range of co-occurring concerns and their caregivers. There are also academic and publication opportunities available if applicant is interested.
The ideal candidate will have completed a doctorate in clinical or school psychology (APA accredited), be licensed or license-eligible in Ohio, completed specific training in trauma, behavior management, and systems-involved youth, and be Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certified or certified-eligible.
