Instructor for Early Childhood Care and Education (FT)

Albany Technical College seeks a well-qualified, highly motivated individual to fill the position of Instructor for Early Childhood Care and Education. He/ she will be dedicated to training ECCE lab students, in a lab setting, as they cultivate their skills to become an early learner educator. Under general supervision, the instructor will provide leadership to the program, develop, prepare and deliver courses, and provide workshops to students in the area of Early Childhood Care and Education. He/she will evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives, providing immediate feedback, prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports. He/she will advise students on their program of study and maintain accurate records of their progress. Additional duties will include but not limited to spear heading registration activities for the program and will participate in the statewide ECCE Consortium. The instructor ensures that a high level of effort and commitment to performing work is consistently displayed. He/she will operate effectively within the organizational structure while demonstrating trustworthiness and responsible behavior, accepting direction and feedback from the supervisor and follow through appropriately. The Program Chair will specifically work to recruit new students, increase retention within the program, and facilitate job placement efforts sponsored by the College. He/she should have excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills, computer skills, basic knowledge of online instructional delivery, an understanding of the dynamics of early learning and a familiarity with learning platforms used in post-secondary education. Previous experience should include competencies, skills, and knowledge level, which the instructor will be, expected to teach. The successful candidate must be highly motivated, must have functional knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, and have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings. Assist with obtaining NAEYC Accreditation for the Early Childhood Care and Education program.
Minimum Qualifications: The applicant MUST have a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education.
Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the minimum qualifications, preference will be given to applicants who have three (3) years of teaching experience, leadership skills and experience with Blackboard or other online learning management systems.
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
Physical Demands: Work is typically performed in an office and/or classroom environment setting with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts lightweight objects. Full range of hand and finger motion may be required for data entry purposes.
