Albany Technical College seeks a well-qualified, highly motivated individual to fill the position of Registrar. The Registrar is responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall administration of the Registrar's Office. He/she will establish and maintain procedures in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 and all other federal regulations regarding student records. The Registrar will maintain student records and monitor access for compliance with federal and state laws, provide assistance in recruiting potential students, counsel students regarding transfers of credit and advanced standing, maintain supply of materials for applications for graduation/completion, drop/add forms, change of grade forms and transcripts. The Registrar is responsible for development of advisement/registration process with instructional services, collects and processes class grades from part-time instructional staff and verifies completion of graduation requirements of degrees, diploma and certificate programs. He/she plans and implements graduation exercises, serves as MIS Data Contact for the technical college, provides student information system training to college personnel, assists with the design and execution of special events, projects and activities as requested, and manages and oversees financial/budget operation of the department. The Registrar will monitor the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and department procedures, develop and/or assist with the development of policies and procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program. He/she will evaluate employees at scheduled intervals upon reviewing of all relevant information, conduct regular evaluation of services provided and make adjustments as needed. The Registrar will maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives. The Registrar will oversee and is the keeper of the Smart Catalog workflow process. He/she should have knowledge of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education, have knowledge of student information system operations, and knowledge of relevant college, state and federal policies. He/she should have skill in operation of computers and job-related software programs, have good oral and written communication skills, decision making and problem solving skills, and skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
Minimum Qualifications: The candidate MUST possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Public Administration or related field *AND* have three (3) years of Managerial experience in student affairs.
Preferred Qualifications: The candidate MUST have a Master's Degree *AND* have three to five (3-5) years of experience in student affairs.
Physical Demands: Work is typically performed in an office environment, with intermittent sitting or walking in various settings. Must frequently lift and carry lightweight objects. Full range of hand and finger motion may be required for data entry purposes.
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Work schedule may include day or evening. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
