Education: Required - High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Required - A minimum of 2 years of experience working with families in a related field.

Summary: The Family Support Coordinator is responsible for using sound professional judgment and best practices to ensure quality services are provided to the service population while maintaining compliance with established program standards.
Essential Functions:
1. Outreach and recruitment of participants.
2. Establish and maintain a trusting and professional working relationship with families by providing regular contact through home visitation.
3. Administer intake, assessments, and screening tools to clients and family members.
4. Assess family needs and refer to community resources as needed.
5. Schedule and plan family activities.
6. Purchase basic needs for families as required, with approval of the Program Supervisor.
7. Serve as liaison for families to community resources.
8. Meet with program supervisor on a bi-weekly basis to evaluate status of families on caseload.
9. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and
socio-economic characteristics.
b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
c. Work in a fast-paced environment.
d. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
e. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
f. Travel as needed.
g. Manage time effectively and efficiently.
10. Perform other duties as assigned per grant requirements.
Measurable Deliverables:
1. Obtain and maintain certification in SafeCare curriculum.
2. Carry a minimum SafeCare caseload of 6 clients to be seen on a weekly basis.
3. Maintain current records of all home visits, interactions, and contacts with
families/clients in program databases.
4. Attend all required trainings and meetings.
5. Provide community education on child abuse prevention strategies as required.
6. Develop together with the program supervisor, updates, reminders, and community education information as required.
Requirements:
1. Maintain current licenses and certificates required for the position including but not limited to First Aid and CPR.
2. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens and maintain emotional control, and professional composure, at all times.
3. Provide proof or work eligibility status upon request.
4. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background and motor vehicle check (fingerprints needed if applicant has lived out of state within the past 5 years).
5. Bilingual (Spanish) required.
