We are seeking a Director of Program Management with exceptional financial acumen and a strategic mindset to oversee the IT budget, manage vendor relationships, and drive operational efficiency for the IT department. This role will be based in either New York City or Boston offices. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this role will lead the financial and operational management of IT initiatives, oversee the global project portfolio, and optimize IT asset management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in budgeting, vendor management, governance, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the IT budget planning and management process, including forecasting, cost optimization, financial reporting, and alignment with strategic and operational goals.
Develop and implement financial models for forecasting and budget performance analysis, identifying cost optimization opportunities and providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
Oversee vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, compliance management, performance evaluation, and lifecycle optimization of IT hardware and software assets.
Manage the procurement and compliance of hardware and software assets, ensuring lifecycle optimization and cost efficiency.
Implement governance frameworks to drive consistency, control, and efficiency across IT operations and ensure adherence to organizational policies.
Supervise and support the team responsible for managing the global IT project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business priorities and efficient execution.
Oversee consolidated views of project initiatives, resources, milestones, risks, and metrics to track portfolio success and operational performance.
Drive consistency, control, and efficiency across IT operations through the implementation of process optimization frameworks.
Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief of Staff and senior leadership, providing insights, recommendations, and actionable plans for decision-making.
Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational priorities.
Key Qualifications
Extensive experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, ideally within IT operations.
Strong expertise in vendor management and contract negotiations, with a focus on IT hardware and software procurement.
Proven ability to oversee project portfolio management and lead cross-functional teams to deliver strategic results.
Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement governance frameworks and operational processes.
Analytical mindset with strong skills in interpreting data and delivering actionable insights.
Experience building relationships with senior stakeholders and presenting to executive leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, IT Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10+ years in IT program management, financial management, or related leadership roles within large scale organizations.
