As the Director of Design Enablement, you'll oversee three critical areas of enablement for the Experience Design team: design operations, content design and Best Buy's enterprise design system. In addition, you'll identify and resolve gaps within the Experience Design and Research team's day-to-day operations. You'll work closely with cross-functional partners in Experience Design, Research and Product to ensure that systems and standards are in place and consistently executed. You'll lead multiple experience design teams, leading 15 to 20 people.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you'll doLead an enterprise-wide strategy for design system and content designProvide experience design system and content design thought leadership and influence across the companyWork with business, product and technology leaders across the organization to understand market needs and visionUnderstand industry best practices for design operations and develop processes, tools, and trainings to ensure consistencyWork closely with product and engineering partners to ensure the work of the Experience Design and Research team is well understood and integrated into Best Buy's product modelIdentify needed skills and capabilities and work to fill as needed, including recruiting, hiring and trainingBasic qualifications10 years of experience as a practitioner with a background in experience design (e.g. UX Designer, Content Designer, Service Designer, Product Designer, Researcher or Strategist.)8 years of direct experience leading experience design teams5 years of eCommerce development and optimizationPreferred qualificationsBachelor's Degree (4 yr) in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Information Architecture, Communication, Marketing, Journalism, Human Computer Interaction, Instructional or Graphic Design, related field or Equivalent Industry Experience.Case studies of previous work experience that demonstrate advanced knowledge and skill in experience design and leadershipWorking knowledge of experience design tools, design thinking facilitation techniques and methods to teach others these ways of workingPrevious experience working with technical product teams or retail operationsWhat's in it for you
