Job Description:

Position Summary:
Support the Distribution Center Manager in overseeing the logistics of delivering Sumitomo Rubber North America Tire Corporation’s products. This role manages all warehousing activities, including receiving, storage, inventory control, movement, and loading operations, ensuring that the facility meets performance, safety, and quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Oversee Warehouse Distribution

  • Manage Warehouse Operations and Supervision

  • Schedule and Route Deliveries

  • Enforce Safety Protocols

  • Supervise and Train Temporary Workers

  • Facilitate Warehouse Training Programs

  • Maintain Accurate Inventory Records

  • Ensure OSHA Compliance

  • Oversee Warehouse Maintenance

Key Responsibilities:



  1. Team Leadership & Scheduling

    • Communicate and enforce company policies, ensuring fair and consistent application.

    • Supervise and schedule warehouse team members, assist with driver scheduling, and manage daily distribution functions to maintain service standards.

    • Coordinate shipments with carriers and oversee facility operations in the absence of the Distribution Manager.


  2. Operational Efficiency & Safety
    • Provide warehouse associates with the tools needed for safe and accurate job performance. Ensure payroll records are accurate and submitted on time.

    • Lead monthly safety meetings to reinforce safety best practices.


  3. Compliance & Training
    • Adhere to OSHA/MSDS standards; obtain forklift trainer certification.

    • Set delivery appointments with customers, train Operations Assistants on processes, and manage the asset tracking database.

    • Coordinate contracts with labor and housekeeping services; maintain reports for scheduling, inventory, CPU tracking, and physical inventory processes.


  4. Supervision & Development
    • Guide and prioritize tasks for the OTR Drivers, Warehouse Lead, and Warehouse Associates.

    • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and implement improvement plans for warehouse personnel.


  5. Additional Responsibilities
    • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five to seven (5-7) years experience in a distribution center/manufacturing environment or other operations role, with demonstrable skills in working in a fast paced environment.

ACADEMIC/TRAINING: An Associates Degree in Business Management or Operations Management. Bachelors Degree higher preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

SKILLS: Must have Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel and Outlook), and SAP. Must be bilingual English/Spanish, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be detail oriented and have demonstrable skills in handling multiple assignments. Experience with Oracle ERP or similar WMS software, and TMS, RF/RFID hardware systems is a plus. Experience with ISO documentation standards and/or general process flow documentation is preferred. Experience implementing Six Sigma, TQC, Kaizen, lean operating processes, or statistical process controls is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand, sit, move, and use fingers for extended periods of time, hearing, seeing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for long periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is typical of a warehouse environment where the environment has uncontrolled air, and office where the air is controlled and kept at mild temperatures.
