Job Description:





Due to the continued growth of our Consulting practice, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Consultant to join our Baker Tilly Healthcare Strategy & Transformation team. As a member of our team, you will also contribute to some of the most important activities in our firm which include operating and growing the business, serving the client, developing the best people, and shaping our culture.


The senior consultant position will be actively involved in a variety of projects, with a focus on the life sciences industry, within Baker Tilly's consulting arm. The selected candidate will use their industry knowledge and technical, analytical and research skills in support of our clients' project needs in the practice areas of life science, provider, and health plan.



Responsibilities will include:



  • Participate in a variety of life sciences projects including:


    • Compliance Auditing and Monitoring:

      • Assess and monitor compliance with industry standards.

      • Identify gaps in processes and controls.

      • Provide recommendations to clients.




    • Compliance Risk and Needs Assessments:

      • Evaluate risks across various areas (e.g., operational audit, enterprise risk management).

      • Communicate findings and recommendations.




    • Compliance Program Implementation and Operations

      • Policy and procedure development

      • Process design

      • Compliance operations support




    • Fair Market Value & Key Opinion Leader Tiering

      • FMV and KOL tiering for healthcare professionals

      • Third-party FMV

      • Clinical trial FMV




    • Spend and Price Transparency Reporting:

      • Assist with pricing transparency requirements.

      • Ensure accurate reporting.





  • Project responsibilities may include:

    • Drafting client deliverables, such as FMV analyses, assessment or audit reports, policies and procedures. These may incude Word, PowerPoint, and Excel formats.

    • Analyzing large data sets and identifying and interpreting patterns and trends in the data

    • Conducting research (e.g., performing surveys and interviews, reviewing government and healthcare policies and procedures, reviewing industry association guidance)

    • Evaluating business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations to clients

    • Managing multiple client-related priorities concurrently and resolve issues accordingly

    • Communicating project status regularly with project managers

    • Monitoring project time and deadlines to ensure completion of the project within estimated timeline and budget



  • Additional Responsibilities include:

    • Participate in industry conferences and professional organizations

    • Participate in new business development

    • Participate in developing thought leadership

    • Support the development of our digital solutions, such as fmvNOW, kolNOW and engagementNOW.

    • Remain current on technical topics and industry trends as they relate to firm and client activities






Successful candidates will have:



  • MBA, MPH or master's degree in healthcare (equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a graduate degree)

  • 3+ years of progressive work experience in the healthcare industry with some combination of the following skills:

    • Analysis of healthcare data

    • Provide research and analysis within the life sciences sector

    • Assess health and performance of client businesses

    • Strong analytical skills including proficiency in data manipulation and financial modeling

    • Strong writing skills (experience in assisting with and/or authoring peer reviewed publications preferred)

    • Proficiency with Excel; must have data analytics experience and SAS experience highly preferred (or proficiency in SQL or R) experience with other analytical tools (e.g., Access, Tableau, SPSS) a plus

    • Performance/operational improvement expertise is a plus (e.g., Six Sigma)

    • Experience in the life sciences sector highly preferred



  • Self-motivated and can work independently

  • Time management skills; ability to manage multiple client related priorities

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Creative and innovative thinker

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% and ability to work non-traditional hours due to client engagements


The compensation range for this role is $81,83 to $177,310. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location
