Duties and Responsibilities:
- Translate project and system requirements into well-defined hardware architectures in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Design and complete instruments, including microprocessors, power, and analog components.
- Innovatively solve issues, drive project completion on schedule, and work collaboratively with other technical contributors.
- Build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing and support.
- Research and implement innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs.
- Collaborate with other engineers and partners to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions for products.
- Address complex problems with limited direction, contribute to requirements development, propose solutions, and adapt to changing requirements.
- Independently perform complex electronic architectures and designs.
- Provide insights and suggest design modifications based on simulation results.
- Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
- Manage tasks with multiple engineers and effectively communicate status to project leadership and customers.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and provide constructive feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in electronic design, microprocessor, or embedded computing.
- Understanding of design and general computer architecture.
- Ability to write detailed design specifications.
- Computer programming and coding skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Additional Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with schematic capture and board layout.
- Experience integrating and debugging embedded systems.
- Ability to perform circuit simulation using HyperLynx and ANSYS.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Mentor Graphics PCB design flow.
- Experience with Xilinx or Microchip FPGA/SOC design flow.
Location:
- Ability to be present at Draper facilities as needed.
Security Clearance:
- Current in-scope Top Secret government security clearance is required.
