ITT Goulds Pumps is looking for a Manager of Operations Scheduling to join their team in Seneca Falls, NY. This role will focus on:
Managing Pump/LE/RE/BKPO load: Capacity planning, level loading, direct procurement / manufacturing activities to ensure schedule attainment.
Creating and managing the revenue forecast for all model lines. Help develop LEAN processes in Materials management to support customer and on-time performance goals.
Working extensively with Marketing Product Managers, Inventory Planning, Finance, General Manager, and GSC, Buyers, Schedulers to identify inventory requirements and to support model line lead-times.
Leading and managing personnel in support of their job responsibilities.
Overseeing the team responsible for processing and management of all pump and repair orders tied to model line splits. Assuring that all necessary steps are performed for the planning, releasing, material movement and eventual shipment of orders to meet Customer requirements.
Creating and publishing daily and weekly management reports.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in a similar role and 3+ years of experience in a supervisory position.
Responsibilities
Expedite, negotiate, and re-prioritize internal and external suppliers to meet customer needs
Plan and load capacity for factory & machining sub vendors. Direct responsibility for adherence to schedule for components and pumps.
Work directly with Engineering, Production, Machining, Suppliers for schedule support. Support Sales and distribution with quoted lead times.
Assist Project Managers in Project meetings when necessary. Serve in project teams, cross-functional teams, as needed to support continuous improvement and team building to meet customer and company objectives.
Mentor team and develop common tools and practices for managing load.
Assist in reducing cycle time and increasing on time performance/revenue.
Drive Excess and Obsolete inventory down.
Maintain the highest level of quality to customer service requirements. Final ownership to pursue and resolve all issues that compromises this objective.
Improve/Drive on time performance for pumps, parts, breakdowns and quick ship orders.
Interface with vendors, machining, stockroom, assembly, shipping, engineering, contract administration, project managers, etc. to identify and drive to resolution issues and corrective actions involving all functional areas to insure release performance. Drive corrective action to all issues to ensure sustained performance success.
Ensure that procedures are intact to support proper handling of discrepancies.
Improve inventory control, levels, processes and audit periodically.
Monitor workloads of team to help identify problem areas that require corrective action.
Assure both customer needs and commitments are met
Assure Financial & OTP requirements for the organization are met. Drive release to assembly OPT to 90% for all Products.
Supervision for all materials team activities that interface in the pump and repair value stream. The following are activities that the Materials Manager is responsible for: Order Release; Identify and resolve internal bottleneck operations; Problem resolution; Maintenance of work orders, insure accurate schedule maintenance on production and purchase orders; Monitor shop loads/capacity – take appropriate action to correct over/under loads in time horizon; Report/monitor/release forecast.
Drive inventories to strategic ITT turn levels.
Excess and Obsolete inventory: Direct the analysis and disposition, Drive improvement processes to prevent further E/O, Drive sustainable results for further prevention.
Ensure that support processes and inventory are in place that will insure product availability consistent with market requirements. – i.e. product lead-time
Establish and monitor effective cost improvement initiatives aligned with quality, inventory, labor, safety, facilities, vendors, and internal systems.
Support all initiatives that promote lean projects and constantly drive continuous improvement projects. Educate employees in lean processes.
Responsible for establishing revenue forecasts and inventory plans.
Supervise employees and administer employee assessments, trainings, and communications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree is required
5+ years of materials and inventory management experience is required
3+ years of supervisory experience is required
Supplier relations experience is required
ERP and MS Office experience is required
Knowledge of forecasting, inventory control, scheduling, MRP, shop control and business systems
