We have an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift Machinist to join our West Hartford, CT team. The 2nd shift Machinist produces production by operating specialized manufacturing machines with minimal supervision. This is a bargaining unit position (UAW), with an excellent wage and benefits package. We are seeking individuals with significant experience in grinding and assembly.
Responsibilities
Candidates will set-up and perform all operations relating to the manufacturing of components produced in multiple manufacturing cells. Responsible for assuring productivity levels are optimized.
•Troubleshooting malfunctions when possible and alerting the appropriate personnel when necessary. •Regulating machining by utilizing machine instrumentation knowledge, including setting and adjusting controls. •Meeting production deadlines by following manufacturing schedules and procedures. •Operating manufacturing machines, such as a CNC lathe, mill drill, grinding machine, CNC mill machines and deburring. Also required are honing and lapping, manual OD, experience with riveting and bearing swaging/flaring. •Using blueprints or design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or greater; 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. General run of machine shop operations, floor assembly, and usual shop maintenance. Hydo-mechanical and electronic manufacturing environment.
