Williams’ Strand Supervisor will provide solid leadership to our Lithia Springs, GA strand anchors. You will deliver specific goals for accomplishing work activities, planning, organizing, scheduling, and assigning the work of your team members to safely accomplish their goals. You are responsible for the safety and training of direct and indirect team members. You must evaluate and monitor the safety, quality, and production of work, meeting Williams’ standards. Take corrective action as needed on daily work issues, effectively document performance issues or misconduct of individuals, and take disciplinary action in discussion with their plant manager. Strand Supervisors must have technical knowledge specific to the work of their team members and they must exhibit expertise in the work processes. This is a lead position, and our Strand Supervisor must demonstrate supervisory skills in managing people.
CHARACTERISTICS:
This is a hands-on position, and the right individual will lead from the front working side by side with their team. The Strand Section Supervisor conducts daily safety observations and risk assessments; effectively recommends hiring, rewarding, and discipline; you are accountable for the work of assigned team members and are responsible for the training and orientation of the entire strand team for safety, work, policies, and procedures. You must display a positive attitude and be secure in planning, organizing, directing, controlling, evaluating, and communicating with team members and other section leaders. You will participate in selecting team members and recommend hiring an individual. Our Strand Supervisor reports to the plant manager. You will carry out your supervisory responsibilities under the company's guidelines, policies, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under production and company goals, our Strand Supervisor plans, organizes, schedules, directs, and monitors the daily work of direct reports to accomplish the work program.
Orientates, trains, and supervises team members on safety, work, equipment, policies, and procedures.
Assists with the counseling team on job performance. Recommends and delivers rewards and discipline in discussion with Plant Manager and Human Resources representatives.
Responsible for workplace safety and security. Trains team regarding safety and ensures compliance. Monitors and reports on accidents and incidents. Makes recommendations to improve safety practices.
Identifies bottlenecks and inefficiencies and makes recommendations to improve quality and production.
Monitors and reviews the status of systems and equipment. Procures equipment and materials to enable the team to carry out the assigned work. Recommends improvements and/or resolves or reports problems for appropriate action.
Completes necessary documentation for work processes including training on and reviewing all ERP transactions.
Conducts, attends, and participates in a variety of team and company meetings.
Works with other departments to facilitate and coordinate on-time delivery.
ADDITIONAL WORK PERFORMED:
May assist in coordinating and supervising related capital improvement projects, as assigned.
May assist the manager in improving processes and programs through participation in special projects, program assignments, and initiatives.
Participates in the planning process for the development of goals and makes recommendations for the growth of the team and line.
Performs other related duties as directed by the plant manager.

Skill in the use of equipment of assigned area sufficient to carry out duties effectively.
Ability and willingness to demonstrate and work in cooperation as a team.
Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily performed on the shop floor, occasionally outdoors, exposing team members to inclement weather, noise, fumes, and heavy environment. Some may work in and around industrial equipment and machinery. Use of appropriate safety equipment and safety practices required.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with the extrusion process preferred.
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of lead or supervisory experience.
High school or equivalent training for level of literacy and academic skills is required for all positions.
Must obtain forklift and overhead crane certification within 90 days of hire.
NECESSARY REQUIREMENTS:
Valid State driver’s license and good driving required.
Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Able to interpret engineered and shop drawings and instructions from Engineering for fabrication.
Able to lift 70 lbs. unassisted.

Compensation will be based on experience
Schedule:
The hours will be Monday-Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Overtime, to include some Saturdays, will be expected.
