Vertiv is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to support the development of our Advanced Monitoring and Control Software. Work will include requirements planning and estimating, software development, testing and demonstration. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: .NET development, Docker, Edge IoT, BMS Protocols, Relational Databases, RESTful APIs.
Responsibilities:
Design and support the containerized microservice application ensuring performance, scalability and extensibility using .NET.
Participate in Agile Software Development processes.
Requirements and use case analysis and task estimation.
Application solution prototyping.
Write and develop unit/integration tests.
Follow industry standard best practices and design principles to build a maintainable and scalable code base.
Document technical issues and solutions.
Provide clear and detailed written reports of bugs and report steps to the development team.
Participate in Code Reviews and suggest fixes and improvements.
Report activities, project status, and plans to team lead and management.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent with strong emphasis on software: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
6+ years of experience in software application development with object-oriented principles, design patterns, and data structures
Must be a .NET developer (.NET 8) with experience in ASP.NET
Must have experience with Docker (and Docker Swarm or Kubernetes) - (deployed in edge preferred over cloud)
Must have experience in event-driven architecture and microservices
Must have experience with MQTT or AMQP
Should have experience communicating with edge devices (industrial, IoT, building management systems) over TCP/UDP (protocols such as SNMP, BACnet, Modbus, CANbus, AMQP, MQTT, Redfish, Sparkplug B, etc.)
Should have experience with Linux
