Position Summary:

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station


This position is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The person hired into this position will work out of the Charlotte satellite office and must be within commutable distance to Charlotte, North Carolina, to be eligible.


The Director, Executive MBA Charlotte Program, is responsible for the effective delivery of educational services, activities and events that are necessary to maintain a high-quality experience for students enrolled in the Executive MBA Charlotte Program format at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. The Director reports to the Senior Director, Executive MBA Programs for Student Engagement & Program Leadership. The position is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of marketing and admissions strategies to ensure admissions levels and cohort demographics meet program goals. The Director serves in a central to maintain and enhance academic rigor, relevance and excellence while providing exemplary support services for students. An important aspect of this position is to fully understand the learning objectives of our Charlotte Executive MBA Program and strive to achieve a positive alignment between learning outcomes and objectives through key curricular and content areas. The Director is responsible for managing the Charlotte MBA operating budget, seeking ways to enhance student experiences and program outcomes through budget allocation and specific new investments. The Director is expected to research current trends in Executive MBA education, including instructional methods or modes, conduct benchmarking against top Executive MBA programs, and work in both a managerial and collaborator capacity with team colleagues such as Admissions and Student Recruitment, Academics, Global Programs, Career and Leadership, Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs. The Director has oversight and administrative authority and discretion in areas such as student services and support, program planning and design, policy creation and implementation, and the allocation of resources.





Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.


Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

The position requires excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with frequent deadlines in a fast paced, high-pressure environment. A strong customer service focus is required as both faculty and Charlotte Executive MBA students have high expectations for program support and the position is located in Charlotte, away from main campus support.


Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Masters degree, particularly MBA, preferred. Ideal candidates will have seven or more years of program and planning leadership and/or progressive private industry leadership experience with some budget experience. Preference will be given to a candidate who has previous higher Ed experience including working with students, faculty, and staff.


Campus Security Authority Responsibilities:


This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
