A Postdoctoral Trainee position is available on the Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Disease (RMD) Epidemiology and Outcomes T32 Training Program at the University of North Carolina. This position involves tailored training opportunities in clinical aspects of RMDs, epidemiology, and a focus on data science and machine learning methodologies and their application to clinical data in RMDs. Successful candidates will develop, in conjunction with T32 mentors and faculty, individual research projects based on their existing skills, objectives of training, and career goals. The environment includes resources from a NIAMS-funded P30 Core Center for Clinical Research, the UNC School and Department of Medicine, Thurston Arthritis Research Center, and the Gillings School of Global Public Health, as well as other campus resources. An individual development plan and individualized mentoring team will be used to guide and optimize the development of the post-doctoral researcher. Interactions with pre- and post-doctoral trainees on the T32, CCCR and in a variety of research labs will be encouraged both formally (peer mentoring groups, mentoring/advisory sessions, work-in-progress presentations) and informally.
