Position Summary: PacBio is looking for a talented Manager to lead the reagents production team. This person will be responsible for leading and overseeing the daily production of molecular biology commercial reagent kits (formulation, filling, and kitting). The production manager will work closely with the planning, supply chain, product transfer, development, and quality teams to release products on time with high quality standard. To excel the candidate needs outstanding coordination and communication skills. Initiative, attention to details, and efficiency are also critical.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the reagents production team, on and off the production floor, to achieve the production goals.
Drive reagents production to ensure the: 1) Team works efficiently while maintaining high quality work, 2) Schedules and specifications are met, 3) Work orders and batch records are reviewed and processed timely, 4) Manufacturing processes are effective, 5) Work areas are safe and organized for maximum efficiency, 6) Inventory counts are correct
Create production schedules and review timesheets
Coach and train employees on production processes
Assist in troubleshooting issues on the production floor
Write and revise work instructions
Communicate work order status and estimated completion dates to management
Perform duties as a production operator, as needed
Provide recommendations for process and systems improvements where needed
Work with external groups (e.g., Engineering, Production Planning, Purchasing, Materials & Logistics, Facilities, ERP administrators, Quality) to insure effective execution
Required Qualifications:
10+ years in a manufacturing environment in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
4+ years in a production manager role
Experience in production of molecular biology reagent kits
Experience in handling/packaging temperature sensitive liquids
Experience in inventory control
Excellent knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP
Excellent knowledge of MS Excel
BS or MS in a Life Science field like biochemistry, or biology
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience:
Experience in a regulated environment for IVD products (ISO 13485 clean room manufacturing environment)
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Experience with planning tools and principles
This role requires 100% onsite presence (Mon-Fri).
