PE Systems has a great opportunity for an IT Specialist located in Fairfax, VA. The IT Specialist will assist the IT Department in supporting, maintaining, and improving PE Systems' IT infrastructure, systems, and security. This role will focus on providing technical support to end-users, assisting with IT projects, maintaining IT assets, and ensuring compliance with established IT and cybersecurity policies. General Function:


  • IT Strategy and Support:
    • Assist in aligning IT Department activities with the organization's strategic goals.
    • Capture business requirements and provide recommendations for improvements.
    • Assist in the development and dissemination of manuals, policies, and procedures.
    • Contribute to improving the company's SharePoint usage and implementing enhancements.

  • IT Infrastructure Management:
    • Assist in maintaining and updating IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
    • Monitor system performance and support routine system upgrades and troubleshooting.
    • Maintain an inventory of IT assets, licenses, and equipment.
    • Collaborate with the IT Department to manage vendor relationships and procure IT assets cost-effectively.
    • Support the implementation and maintenance of IT projects, including preparation for CMMC 2.0 compliance.
    • Assist in creating how-to guides, videos, and documentation to train end-users effectively.
    • Support and maintain the company's WordPress website, including updating content, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring website security and functionality.

  • Information Security:
    • Support cybersecurity initiatives, including data protection and employee training campaigns.
    • Assist in maintaining and enforcing cybersecurity measures to comply with company and regulatory requirements.

  • IT Service Management:
    • Use the ticketing system to provide end-user support and handle incidents efficiently.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
    • Participate in delivering technology updates to department heads.


Qualifications:



Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:


  • BA Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, OR related field

  • Must have Entry-level knowledge of IT support operations and IT infrastructure.

  • Must familiarity with computer hardware, software, and networking fundamentals.

  • Must experience with Windows and macOS operating systems.

  • Must strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.

  • Must be able to obtain a government security clearance, if needed.

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality service.
  • A proactive and resourceful approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills.


Preferred Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:

  • 0-2 years of experience in IT support operations.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 administration, including GCC High environments.
  • Basic knowledge of Entra ID, Intune, GSuite, domain registration, DNS management (e.g., Cloudflare).
  • Familiarity with WordPress and hosting platforms.
  • Understanding of government compliance requirements (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0).
  • Basic knowledge of Power Automate, Power Apps, and Flow is a plus.

Salary range: $55-80K
