The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and managing programs that cultivate employee growth and enhance organizational performance. The Learning & Development Specialist collaborates with stakeholders across the business to assess the skills, performance, and career growth needs of the workforce, creating solutions that align with the company's goals and culture. Additionally, this role leads employee engagement initiatives, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace environment that supports the well-being and retention of employees.
Responsibilities
Design and facilitate new hire, on-going training, and employee development programs.
Develop and create effective training materials and/or guides to meet the needs of the business.
Ensure training effectiveness and collaborate with management to set up new hires for success.
Provide effective learning solutions for new hire training, employee development, management/leadership development, required compliance training and project-related training.
Conduct blended learning methodologies and use tools to design and promote learning (e.g., classroom-based learning, virtual, e-learning, on demand self-paced, experiential, etc.).
Manage, troubleshoot, and curate content in the company’s LMS.
Consult with critical stakeholders across the business to define the capabilities required for job performance.
Plan and organize company meetings and events.
Develop and create effective communications, graphics, emails, and presentations.
Provide guidance to management on employee development practices and engagement strategies.
Champion company culture and employee engagement strategies to improve work relationships, boost morale, productivity, and retention.
Coordinate and execute employee engagement activities that promote a positive workplace culture and enhance team collaboration.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree.
5+ years of experience in instructional design and training facilitation within a corporate setting.
Experience with creating and updating content in Articulate.
Experience in developing and implementing employee engagement initiatives.
Experience in the banking industry or financial services preferred.
Experience and proven success consulting with executive stakeholders on a diverse range of talent development and engagement strategies/initiatives.
Experience in collaborating effectively and leading without authority across the enterprise; advising on talent development and engagement challenges for all levels in the organization.
Experience developing and conducting blended learning solutions for operations, professional and leadership audiences.
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, instructional-systems design methodologies, adult learning theory and application and eLearning concepts.
Strong understanding of talent and organizational development and engagement best practices and market trends.
Experience using LMS and multimedia authoring tools to develop online learning modules.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
