This career step requires senior level experience. Responsible for the overall delivery process of a software application or service, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support (e.g., troubleshooting) and maintenance with a focus on automation.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Work with portfolio stakeholders, Solution and Enterprise Architects, to develop, analyze, contribute to MVP approach, and realize the implementation of product enhancements.
  • As a Lead Software Engineer, provide detailed technical design to both frontend (UI) and backend BFF layers and lead the team.
  • Build an amazing customer experiences to improve overall company sales and revenue using Gen-AI & Co-pilot experiences!
  • Technically, lead the team to craft, develop, test, and maintain integrated applications and products.
  • Design and lead efficient and consistent caching strategy across web engineering applications.
  • Lead the team to build high performance Decisioning Engine applications.
  • Derive technology roadmaps for end-to-end engineering strategy and initiatives.
  • Establish critical NFRs at the solution level, participate in the definition of others.
  • Contribute to technical roadmap and technical debt elimination, balancing time, resource, and quality constraints to achieve business and strategic goals and requirements
  • Develop integrated systems enabling unified experience across applications and driving insights for end-to-end user experience.
  • Help build and maintain our Continuous Delivery pipeline with the goal of moving changes to production faster and safer, while ensuring key operational standards.
  • Provide peer reviews to other specialists including feedback on performance, scalability, and correctness.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to continually identify opportunities for enhancing the functionality and performance of UI components and framework tooling.
  • Actively contribute to the adoption of new frameworks, standards, and new technologies.
  • Enforce unit test coverage and automation coverage to be at maximum to ensure high quality product.

Job Contribution:

Minimum Qualification and Skills required:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8-10+ years of proven experience building sophisticated applications and APIs in Cloud and hybrid cloud environments at large scale preferably in Java and React JS.
  • Experience building applications using Generative AI, LLMs & Copilots.
  • Technical leadership designing products as well as mentoring and developing high preforming teams.
  • 4+ years of experience developing applications utilizing relational databases and / or no SQL databases as part of the overall application architecture.
  • Extremely motivated, highly passionate, and curious about new technologies. Take pride in your work and strive to achieve incredible results and possess superb communication and planning skills.
  • Ability to work successfully with multi-functional teams, principals, and architects. Coordinates optimally across organizational boundaries and geographies.
  • 4+ year of experience in developing a Big-Data Batch and Streaming applications in a cloud context and is familiar with the patterns and process of managing cloud infrastructure.
  • 5+ years of experience with Java and Scala programming.
  • 8+ years of strong background of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
  • Expert knowledge and experience working with asynchronous message processing, stream processing and event driven computing.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment

Preferred Skills
  • Experience improving enterprise productivity and employee experience leveraging Generative AI based solutions.
  • Background with leading the technology roadmap for multiple products and influencing product roadmap based of technology evolution.
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms, experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Passion to collaborate and build supporting development infrastructures like CI/CD and DevOps.
  • Excellent programming, debugging, performance analysis, and test design skills is a plus.

Our Lead Software Engineering, earns between $143,800.00-$215,800.00 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
