Description: Our client is currently seeking a Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor, this is a 12 month contract/consulting opportunity!

Position Summary:




12 month contract (w2)




Onsite: South Salt Lake



We seek a hands-on EHS Contractor Supervisor to oversee safety and environmental programs while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local Utah and South Salt Lake regulations. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day safety initiatives, provide guidance to employees and supervisors, and maintain a safe working environment.



Key Responsibilities:



• Implement and oversee EHS programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and state/local regulations.


• Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance.


• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal.


• Lead safety trainings for temporary employees and employees, emphasizing safe work practices.


• Manage the Be Aware, Take Care Program to increase employees engagement and active participation.


• Oversee incident investigations, identify root causes, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.


• Collaborate with teams to improve safety culture and reduce workplace hazards.


• Act as the site liaison for regulatory inspections, audits, and inquiries.


• Monitor and report key safety metrics, including incidents and near misses.



Qualifications:



• 7+ years of hands-on experience in EHS roles, ideally in a chemical manufacturing environment.


• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local Utah/South Salt Lake safety regulations.


• Proven experience mentoring and inspiring teams and implementing safety programs.


• Ability to conduct training sessions and communicate safety procedures effectively.


• Familiarity with hazard assessments, audits, and incident investigations.


• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
