This job will have the following responsibilities:
Work in person at the assigned building.
Review referrals for evaluations and determine appropriate interventions; assess students as needed and disseminate information.
Administer tests based on federal, state, local guidelines, and student needs.
Participate in IST/IEP meetings, suggesting instructional interventions, curriculum modifications, and student accommodations.
Discuss student performance with teachers, observe students in regular education, write observation reports, choose and administer tests.
Write the school psychologist's portion of assessment reports and integrate other appraisal reports before notifying the teacher.
Ensure student records and IST/RTI information are complete prior to assessment; request outside data and assess vision and hearing.
Participate in IST meetings to determine disability eligibility.
Observe federal timelines for assessments and written reports.
Use the RTI problem-solving model and promote team building.
Consult with outside agency personnel as needed.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Certification (https://regulations.delaware.gov/AdminCode/title14/1500/1583.shtml#TopOfPage)
Special Education Certification Preferred
Highly Qualified Status as per NCLB
At least three years of teaching experience
Working knowledge of Response To Intervention (RTI strategies).
Working knowledge of diagnostic procedures and instructional modification.
Clean Criminal Background Check, TB Test, and Child Protection Registry Clearance Must be completed prior to start of employment
