As a Senior Internal Controls Analyst, you'll take ownership of financial controls and accounting process improvements in a global private company and leader in advanced manufacturing. This position provides the opportunity to develop deep expertise in areas like account reconciliations and financial analysis, while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial internal controls within the AuditBoard system.
Work closely with the Director, Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit to identify improvements and build best practices for monitoring the Business Unit financials, performing reconciliations and analyses, performing verifications, and investigating identified variances.
Collaborate with the Director, Business Unit Controllers, Corporate Controller and VP, Finance & Accounting to build and maintain effective accounting procedures and controls.
Provide one-on-one assistance and troubleshooting to Business Unit Finance & Accounting team members, identifying when to escalate for next-level assistance.
Facilitate and work as the administrator for audit requests from external auditors and other third parties.
Perform as needed verification procedures on new acquisitions and system migrations.
Interact and communicate with business colleagues in a professional, confident manner, including actively participating in meetings as appropriate.
Demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Maintain open communication and provide regular updates to the Director and colleagues regarding work tasks, issues, and action plans.
Assist in performing special projects as requested by the Director.
The position will be based in the Houston office, with one work from home day each week.
Travel within North America may be required and is estimated at 5-10%.
Qualifications and Skills
A bachelor's degree is required; major in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, desired, but not required.
Manufacturing industry experience desired, but not required.
Minimum of two years of experience in performing accounting procedures, reconciliations, internal controls, assessing accounting risks.
Demonstrated proficiency with various software systems including MS Excel, Word, SharePoint, ERP accounting modules, account reconciliation software.
Willingness to adapt to new technologies, learn new technologies and help train colleagues on new technologies.
Possess strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and provide updates on work progress.
Demonstrated integrity, values, principles, and work ethic.
