The position would be based in Newark, NJ at the Office of Employee Benefits (OEB). Successful candidates must be willing to work on-site at least two days a week.

You will be working in Newark, NJ for a division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta (Office of Employee Benefits) and will primarily partner with health & welfare team to develop financial analyses, outputs, models and deliverables including summaries of insights to multiple stakeholders across the Federal Reserve System. As part of this work, you’ll drive two primary outcomes:


  • Develop and maintain models to forecast the impact of cost avoidance/funding strategies that help to refine budget projections.


  • Partner with finance teams to drive accurate and reliable claim reporting and financial modeling to guide stakeholders’ decisions. Collects, analyzes, and summarize claims data to support health care pricing decisions.


Additionally, you’ll develop a plan to optimize tools and reporting provided by vendor partners, and design and implement an aggregate dashboard tool for System-wide benefits utilization and engagement view. You will report to the AVP, Health & Welfare.

We’re looking for:


  • Strong communication and storytelling abilities, with the capacity to convey complex data insights to diverse audiences in a clear and compelling manner.


  • Proficiency in data manipulation languages and data visualization tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and excellent Microsoft tool skills in Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and identify data inconsistencies.


  • Capable of critically evaluating data to derive meaningful, actionable insights.


  • Ability to determine needed enhancements based on analysis of metrics and quantify the expected results.


  • Ability to make sound decisions and demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information.


  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently across multiple levels of the organization and externally.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the data analysis needs of the department in planning and execution of data and business intelligence processes. Acts as a resource for information gathering, data analysis and business intelligence solutions; creates and defines data and business intelligence analytical tools that can deliver efficient and effective business approaches; supports the data acquisition process to ensure the requirements for scoped analytics are met within reasonable timeframes and helping to formulate recommendations when appropriate.


  • Supports project/workstream planning process including requirements gathering, technical design, development, testing, and delivery of data and business intelligence (BI) solutions of low to moderate complexity.


  • Influence business decisions by providing quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patters, insights, and trends to decision-makers


  • Designs and develops business intelligence dashboards, analytic reports and data visualizations using various reporting tools such as Tableau. Manages multiple simultaneous data and reporting projects


  • Provides support for metadata management system development, implementation and maintenance. Works with the stakeholders to understand data requirements. Collects, analyzes and summarizes data to support business decisions.


  • Provides general analytical support to the department and senior leaders. Prepares analyses and reports of key department performance measures. Performs research and analysis needed to respond to requests for information for key stakeholders.


  • Provides data that is congruent, reliable, and easily accessible by the user. Utilizes tools to monitor and mass update data changes. Develops and maintains the logical and physical data models. Uses technology to extract and analyze raw data.


  • Develops and maintains technical documentation regarding data. Makes recommendations for process improvements to support data integrity efforts. Works on one or more projects/issues/enhancements as a team member


Education: Bachelor's Degree or 4 years equivalent experience

Experience: Two to five years of relevant experience
