Overview

The purpose of the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center of the Oregon Health and Sciences University is to assure that persons in Oregon with developmental disabilities and other disabling conditions are identified and assured ready access to exemplary and coordinated services through programs of public health, clinical service, education, research and care coordination. This position is a member of the multidisciplinary OHSU/CDRC Spina Bifida Program and Feeding Clinics. Provides diagnosis, consultation and treatment to individuals with spina bifida and complex feeding difficulties. Provides patient care, care coordination and referral services for patients and their families. For patients with Spina Bifida, provides specialty care, especially related to bowel and bladder functioning, family coping, self-care, self-concept, growth and development. Provides consultation to other community agencies and providers. Participate in education programs for patients/families, health care students and providers, OHSU and the community. The PNP will work within an interdisciplinary model, coordinate clinic activities, and have primary responsibility for case management and care coordination. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.



Responsibilities

  • Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience as PNP, including experience with children with special needs and solid background in and understanding of child and human development.
  • Able to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team, providing family centered care.
  • Organized, able to prioritize and work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.
  • Valid Oregon RN license and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner license with prescriptive privileges and DEA#.
  • Current CPR.
  • Valid drivers license.


Qualifications



  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice.
  • Community experience and bilingual in Spanish desirable.
  • Prefer direct experience working with Spina Bifida population.
