These will be full-time paid internship opportunities awarded on a competitive basis. The summer intern assignments will begin in late May/early June following the completion of the school year and last through mid-August. The successful candidate(s) will be provided with hands-on experience working with members of our professional Engineering Team on technically oriented projects related to aeronautics engineering to support DOD and IC customers. You can expect to deliver a kickoff briefing and a final accomplishments briefing of your project, any software developed or modeling and simulation results, and supporting documentation related to the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and testing of aircraft related systems via modeling and simulation or analysis of data.

  • Will need to document any analysis or report on M&S results for project.

  • Examples of aircraft systems of interest may include propulsion, avionics, aerodynamic performance, material science, and structural analysis

Security Requirements:

  • Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

  • Candidates must meet eligibility requirements for a TS/SCI government security clearance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Emphasis on emerging Juniors and Seniors pursuing degrees in engineering, science, or mathematics.

  • Must work well both in a team environment, as well as independently.

  • Must have strong research, writing and communication skills.

  • Must have excellent computer skills and experience formatting, graphs, diagrams, and tables.

  • Must be a full-time student at an accredited, U.S. college or university.

  • Must have demonstrated a high level of academic achievement.

  • Local candidates preferred.

Desired Project-specific skillsets sought:

  • Individual completed junior year of studies.

  • Knowledge of Python, Matlab, C, or C++.

  • EE student with digital signal processing course work.

  • Previous internship experience highly desirable.

ADA Notations:

  • Regular communication (hearing/speaking).

  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to noisy.

  • Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).

  • Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, and may occasionally lift and move at least 25 pounds.

  • Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
