The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University invites applicants for a non-tenure-track position beginning January 2025 at the level of Professor of Practice. Responsibilities will include the teaching of undergraduate elective courses in atmospheric physics, participation in departmental committees, and involvement as a liaison with experts in the field of meteorology. The potential exists to supervise a senior internship or thesis course in the applicant's area of expertise.
About the Department:
We expect the candidate teaching in atmospheric physics will complement the Department’s research strengths, which include atmospheric and space physics as well as astrophysics, atomic physics, biophysics, and condensed matter physics. The Department offers a BS and BA in Physics, a PhD and MS in Physics, and a PhD and MS in Medical Biophysics.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in meteorology, atmospheric physics or a closely related discipline through a combination of an academic degree and professional experience in the field. A record of successful teaching experience is preferred.
