Summary:


The Advanced Engineering Intern will be part of Acushnet Company's strategic initiative to expand production capability of its premium performance product lines, Titleist PROV1 and PROV1x. The Advanced Engineering group is on the forefront of this initiative leading to develop the next generation manufacturing equipment necessary to deliver product to market. As part of this collaborative team, candidates will be involved with providing engineering support primarily, mechanical design, sub-assembly fabrication, electrical design, and automation control as well as conducting scaled experimentation and prototype testing. Other responsibilities will include:



  • Develop and execute mechanical application projects, in collaboration with engineering and maintenance, and under the direction of technical leadership, to create tooling, repair equipment, and upgrade processes. Responsible for creating, and contributing to, the design, fabrication, assembly and testing of parts, tooling, equipment repairs, and process upgrades, that result in improved reliability, quality, efficiency, and safety.

  • Assist with creating machine drawings for new tools and mechanical components in accordance with GD&T standards.

  • Provide Production, Maintenance, ad Engineering technical applications support. Recommend cost-effective changes in equipment, tooling, and process design to improve reliability, quality, efficiency, and safety.


Requirements:



  • Must be currently enrolled in a college/university degree granting program -Preference for students studying mechanical engineering or industrial engineering

  • Hands on skills with basic assembly tools required

  • Leading candidates will ideally have demonstrated coursework in Mechanics of Materials, Statics, Dynamics, Power and Control systems, IoT, as well as a working knowledge of the AutoCAD or SolidWorks software packages.

  • Microsoft Office Suite experienced strongly preferred

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
