Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking for Associate/Experienced Equipment and Tool Engineer to join our in Ridley Park, PA. The selected candidate will have a statement of work that includes designing, modifying, and maintaining aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling that supports multiple programs and products at the Boeing Philadelphia site.

Position Responsibilities
  • Designs, analyzes and modifies aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling that meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements
  • Researches, develops, evaluates and integrates robotics, automation, and new technologies and processes related to equipment and tooling for applicability to programs and products.
  • Conducts design reviews with cross functional team and stakeholders.
  • Creates and maintains related documentation for equipment and tooling, develops preventative maintenance plans and trains personnel as needed.
  • Develops and implements interim solutions for damaged and unsafe equipment and tooling.
  • Develops data package (e.g., usage instructions, procurement information, test plan, etc.) to satisfy design release requirements.
  • Support development of tooling processes including interfaces between 3D CAD models and numerical control (NC) programming.
  • Works under general supervision.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 1+ years' experience working in an engineering discipline
  • 1+ years' experience in a tool / equipment engineering or tool manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years' experience modeling solid objects in a computer-aided design tool such as CATIA


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience working in an Equipment or Tool Engineering role
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Experience with Numerical Control (NC) programming
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor
  • Project management knowledge
  • Strong communication skills


Typical Education/Experience

Level 2

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

Level 3

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate level: $81,600 - $110,400

Summary pay range for experienced: $96,,050 - $129,950
