The Talent Acquisition and Outreach (TAO) team, within Harvard Human Resources (HHR) in Central Administration, is dedicated to improving and enhancing talent acquisition (TA) efforts across Harvard University. We do so by working collaboratively across all schools and units to strengthen best practices, enhance systems performance and efficiency, develop and maintain internal and external partnerships, enhance recruiter, candidate, and manager experiences, and ensure compliance with a fair hiring and selection process.

We are seeking an innovative and data-driven Senior Recruitment Marketing and CRM Specialist to help define and elevate our employee value proposition, as well as enhance candidate engagement through strategic marketing and CRM initiatives. This newly created position reports to the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition Programs, Systems and Initiatives, and will play a critical role in positioning Harvard University as an employer of choice by building strong outreach campaigns and managing communication strategies through a Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) system. The ideal candidate will be both creative and analytical with experience in brand marketing, outreach campaigns, social media engagement and CRM management.

Position Description

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Recruitment Marketing:

  • Develop and execute a robust recruitment marketing strategy to effectively communicate Harvard University's employee value proposition.
  • Work in close partnership with the HHR Communications team, as well as other communications/marketing and talent acquisition stakeholders, to produce compelling content that highlights our culture, values, and career opportunities; align recruitment marketing efforts with overall branding and recruitment goals.
  • Utilize various platforms including social media, websites, and digital marketing channels to amplify the talent brand message; this includes launching a new career site 2025.
  • Define and implement strategies for branding events, such as career fairs and webinars, to increase brand awareness and attract talent; this includes designing related collateral.
  • Conduct market research to understand candidate preferences and trends, using insights to refine marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Ensure all recruitment marketing communications and platforms are consistent with Harvard University and Harvard Human Resource's values, messaging and branding guidelines, and digital accessibility policy.


CRM Strategy and Management:

  • Oversee the new CRM system to ensure efficient candidate relationship management and communication; this includes managing overall CRM operations, KPIs/SLAs, and talent community health.
  • Design, develop, and implement CRM-driven talent brand campaigns to build and nurture candidate relationships as well as drive engagement.
  • Segment audiences and tailor communication strategies to engage with diverse candidate pools effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze feedback to continuously improve engagement strategies and processes.


Analytics and Reporting:

  • Use analytics and marketing performance data to refine strategies and drive decision-making.
  • Provide regular reports on talent brand effectiveness, candidate engagement, and CRM performance to leadership.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 7+ years of related experience in talent brand marketing, CRM management, communications or a similar role required


Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful recruitment marketing and CRM strategies
  • Strong proficiency in CRM systems and digital marketing tools
  • Creativity and passion for brand storytelling and candidate engagement
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to utilize data to drive strategies


Additional Information

PLEASE NOTE: This is a fully benefited, full-time position that has been funded through June 30, 2026. The desired and intended start date for this hire is early February 2025.

This position has a 3-month orientation and review period.
