Job Description:

Martin Marietta is seeking aWater Plant Operatorfor our Irwindale location.


Position Summary


The Water Plant Operator is responsible for the plant's efficiency and production optimization while maintaining a safe work environment at all times.


Responsibilities

• Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task


• Communicates with project managers, foreman, loader operators and crew on a daily basis


• Operates plant equipment to regulate flow of water and mud thru pumps and dewatering equipment.


• Performs a variety of tasks assisting with the operation of the plant, including using hand tools, cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials as needed

• Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits


• Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills


• Perform well in a "TEAM" environment


• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency


• Willing to work hours that are associated to the industry, including overtime and weekends as needed


• Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.


• Basic computer and mathematical skills.


• Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen

Minimum Education and Experience

• Previous plant experience preferred


• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements & Conditions

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions andtolerate being exposed to loud noise


• Ability to lift 75 pounds


• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
