Job Description Summary The University of South Alabama’s College of Nursing of is seeking to hire an Academic Advisor II. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Recruits and travels for specific events, advising, processing of applications for admission, progression, and graduation.
  • Oversees recruitment, admissions and academic advisement for nursing students.
  • Interacts with prospective students via phone, computer or in-person.
  • Participates in college and university recruitment and advising activities including Move-In-Day, USA Day, Jag Days, new and transfer student orientations, and recruitment trips as needed.
  • Directs prospective students to program information on college website, bulletin, or other related sources.
  • Evaluates transcripts for prospective students and updates electronic student files including revising curriculum schedules as needed.
  • Reviews applications and calculates prerequisite GPAs for applicants and advises students appropriately.
  • Produces reports requested by the Dean/Associate Dean for the College of Nursing, administrators, and faculty..
  • Completes beginning of term and end of term processes for graduation, along with completer/non-completer lists and add-backs for graduation, and assists with college graduation activities, including convocation.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
