Faculty Instructor - Part-Time at University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

The University of Pittsburgh School of Computing and Information seeks exceptional candidates for Part-Time Instructor positions. We are looking for candidates to facilitate online courses on data science topics including (but not limited to):

• Data-centric computing

• Math/Stats for Data Science

• Databases

• Predictive modeling

• Data visualization

• Bayesian Data analysis

• Deep learning

• Cloud computing

Each position is outside of the tenure stream and has a duration of one term.

Required Qualifications

• Hold an MS/PhD in Information Science/Computer Science/Data Science or related field by the start of the position.

• Academic or practical experience in one or more of the topics noted above

• Knowledge of, or experience in, teaching data science courses

• Proven track record of successful online/asynchronous teaching and course facilitation

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with the Coursera platform

• Familiarity with tools and techniques to encourage student engagement in online courses

• Experience in providing student academic support in the online environment
