Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of cardiothoracic surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery or eligible for such certification or foreign equivalent.
Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students and residents clinically and didactically.
Clinical responsibilities may include care for pediatric cardiothoracic surgery patients.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical or basic science studies in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery.
The successful candidate will have experience in the entire breadth of congenital cardiac surgery from newborns to adults. This position will be focused at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the nation's oldest pediatric hospital and consistently ranked among the best.
