The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is seeking an Office Associate for its Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesiology (OMFS). OMFS offers a full scope of surgical techniques for a variety of problems of the face and mouth. Many of our faculty surgeons have particular expertise in select sub-specialties, including temporomandibular disorder, nerve repair, orthognathic surgery, and cleft lip and palate repair.
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.
Facilitates entire check-in process for DFP OMFS patients, resident OMFS patients, and Pre-doc OMFS patients; greets patients, oversees accurate completion of necessary forms, notifies doctors and/or assistants that patient has arrived, correct distribution of charts; enters new patient demographics and insurance information into Axium accurately and in a timely fashion; distributes parking passes to DFP OMFS patients and logs parking pass number on master schedule; maintains master schedule throughout course of day according to protocol; provides excellent customer service to patients and customers at OMFS window, provides information; serves as primary point of contact for patients, residents, faculty, and student clinics.

Monday - Friday 8:00 am -5:00 pm
Compensation
$18.17 - $23.90/hour
Position Requirements
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks.
Required: Six months experience (600 hours training) using computers to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; 6 mos. experience (600 hrs course work) in office practices and procedures; 6 months experience (600 hours course work) in customer service.
Desired: Knowledge of dental terminology and dental practices and procedures is desired.
