Position Summary:

The Division of Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at the UNC School of Medicine is recruiting for an Assistant or Associate Professor to be responsible for the evaluation and management of patients with pulmonary diseases in an outpatient longitudinal pulmonary clinic. Experience in diagnosing and managing chronic pulmonary diseases including but not limited to sarcoidosis and obstructive lung disease, as well as general pulmonary evaluations (e.g., dyspnea, pre-operative pulmonary assessments) is necessary. The candidate should have interest in supervising training fellows and residents in the outpatient environment. Excellent communication and collaborative skills are required. Academic interests will also be important, including contributions to clinical trials and outcomes studies in the outpatient setting. Candidates will have the opportunity to also perform inpatient clinical duties and teaching responsibilities.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Applicants must hold an MD or DO and be BC/BE in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine.


Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Candidates should have successfully completed fellowship training in pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine.
