A post-doctoral scholar position is available in the College of Pharmacy at the Ohio State University to quantify and characterize the competitive and non-competitive binding profile of novel monoclonal antibody-based therapeutics in vitro and in vivo being developed in partnership with the Drug Development Institute at the Ohio State University. Highly motivated candidates with a recent Ph. D in the pharmaceutical sciences are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will join a large research group and be expected to develop and lead new independent research projects in the areas of monoclonal antibody epitope binding biology, mAb pharmacokinetics, and drug discovery and development. Applicants interested in an independent academic research career are especially encouraged to apply. Experience with flow cytometry, quantitative ELISA and murine pharmacokinetic studies are encouraged but not essential.
Required Qualifications: PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences or related field. Must have experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology.
Desired Qualifications: Demonstrate proficiency in techniques including but not limited to flow cytometry, ELISA, design and implementation of murine pharmacokinetic experiments. Have the ability to critically analyze literature, experimental data, troubleshoot, interpret and summarize scientific results in a clear and accurate manner.Possess strong organizational skills, especially with regard to data handling and lab management.Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Have a ready willingness to teach and train other lab members.
