Description:
The Division of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of sarcoma. There will be an expectation of the candidate to provide management and/or leadership skills in this area. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidates should be board certified or board eligible in Medical Oncology.
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching hematology/oncology fellows, residents, and medical students. The academic clinician track requires 100 credits per year of active and high-quality teaching.
Clinical responsibilities may include care of patients with sarcoma in an outpatient setting and as an attending on the inpatient service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), and Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH). Engagement in clinical investigation is required in this position. Experience and/or advanced training in the conduct of clinical trials is preferred, but not required. The selected candidate will be expected to conduct and lead clinical trials as part of their responsibilities.
