Financial Aid and Scholarships at Texas State University seeks an experienced manager and financial aid professional to provide effective leadership in managing the office's federal, state and NCAA compliance operations, including training initiative coordination, as well as oversight of the NCAA Compliance Administrator.
The Assistant Director ensures effective team operations and overall office compliance by providing day-to-day oversight of the NCAA Compliance Administrator, conducting regulatory assessments, performing quality assurance reviews, liaising with auditors and related entities, training and assessing staff's compliance knowledge, researching issues, and developing and collaboratively implementing corrective action plans to facilitate effective and compliant business operations. This individual is to effectively provide innovative approaches to the challenges faced by Financial Aid and Scholarships, execute proactive planning, manage the team, ensure efficient and compliant operations, and conduct job-related research.
Flexible schedules available, including part-time remote and four-day work weeks. Occasional overnight travel and work beyond normal 8-5 business hours may be required during peak business periods.
Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships, the Assistant Director is responsible for supervising the NCAA Compliance Administrator, serving as a back-up for the day-to-day operations for the NCAA Compliance Administrator as well as managing the office-wide training program. This position serves as the compliance lead for the office, which involves robust quality assurance reviews as well as extensive research of rules and regulations. This work ensures office and institutional compliance with applicable federal, state and NCAA financial aid rules and regulations. The role is critical to the efficient and effective management of the high-risk audit area of federal aid program administration and NCAA awarding. This individual is an essential member of the office's management team and will help direct and contribute to the future success of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
