Position Overview
The College of Dentistry at the Ohio State University seeks applications for a full-time oral and maxillofacial surgeon in a clinical-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Anesthesiology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic academic oral and maxillofacial surgery residency training program and contribute to the mission of the larger Division and College via pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Performance Objectives
The faculty hired into this position will be expected to:
·teach at the pre-doctoral and resident trainee levels in both didactic and clinical settings.
·engage in research within the college and across other health science units at the Ohio State University and demonstrate high-quality scholarly work, including presentations at professional meetings and publications of basic or clinical research.
·serve in university and college governance.
·practice the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and participate in maxillofacial trauma and odontogenic infection call for all affiliated hospitals.
Education and Experience Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the following required qualifications:
·DDS, DMD, or international equivalent degree
·Training certificate from a CODA accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery training program
·Eligibility for a regular (unlimited) dental license by the Ohio State Dental Board
·Board-eligibility or board-certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

Division Information
The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Anesthesiology accommodates approximately 7000 patient visits per year. The OMS faculty provide full-scope OMS surgical and office-based anesthesia procedures to the College of Dentistry and larger central Ohio community. Additionally, the faculty have admitting and operating privileges at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children's Hospital, both level one trauma facilities and tertiary care centers for Ohio where they provide facial trauma and odontogenic infection call services 365 days a year.

Additional Information:
By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire.
