Job Description
1. Independently performs responsibilities of MLS, MLSI and MLSII.
2. Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multi-disciplinary patient care services team. Develops and leads efforts to improve regulatory compliance within and beyond the department.
3. Assists leadership team with interviewing, orienting, training and supervising. Provides input to leadership team for performance evaluations and corrective actions.
4. Collaborates with leadership in identifying gaps and opportunities for professional development and strategic organizational initiatives. Facilitates in creating a positive departmental culture.
5. Assists leadership in identification and resolution of complex clinical and operational issues.
6. Responsible for regulatory and accreditation agency preparation and participation.
7. Performs duties as assigned related to the job description.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences or an Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, basic sciences or related field required or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program with relevant experience required.
Experience: minimum of 3 years of clinical laboratory experience (bachelor's degree) preferred; or minimum of 5 years of clinical laboratory experience (Associate in MLT or related field or Military Lab Technician Training program) required.
Licensure/Certifications: ASCP or equivalent preferred.
