Oversees field operations for smaller-scale projects or supports on larger-scale projects. Supports logistics of the project, including set-up and planning, schedule and budget management, materials and supplies, and quality control. Leads and manages field craft associates, coordinating and attending meetings, and ensuring safety. Ensures assigned work is being performed within budget, on schedule, and according to plans and specifications.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES




Preconstruction, Project Set Up & Planning



  • Supports preconstruction and assists operational plans for project pursuits.


  • Develops and manages the overall construction schedule(s).


  • Reviews and offers feedback for trade partner scopes of work and contract prior to be finalized.


  • Supports the overall project permitting process.


  • Assists with the development of General Conditions and General Requirements.


  • Assists with project pre-planning / kick-off meetings with Trade Partners prior to mobilization.





Safety



  • Assists with implementation of site-specific safety plan with assistance from senior project staff and Safety Department.


  • Assists with weekly site safety walk-throughs.


  • Leads by example and ensures safety is the highest priority on the Project.


  • Assists with ORMs development completion and daily documentation.


  • Assists with Safety Orientations and Safety Stand Downs.


  • Confirms all Trade Partner safety requirements are in place prior to mobilizing onsite.


  • Confirms review of Hazardous Building Material Survey(s) has been conducted.


  • Assists with potential High-Risk Activities and helps with preliminary planning for each.





Logistics, Self-Perform & Building Performance Solutions



  • Assists with equipment needs with the Logistics Center using the equipment utilization plan.


  • Assists with and documents production rates with team to ensure work is being performed within budget and unit requirements.


  • Ensures self-perform is receiving adequate notice for manpower request.


  • Manages schedule, coordination, and unit tracking of field craft and self-perform tasks.


  • Works with Building Performance Solutions to ensure services are used as required for the project (if applicable).


  • Manages QAQC site specific plan.


  • Ensures non-conforming work is being identified, tracked and corrected through proper documentation.


  • Assists with overall mock-up process, develops a plan, and ensures implementation.


  • Manages and leads preinstallation meetings prior to any trade partner starting work.





Field Management & Controls



  • Assists in securing project, following site logistic plan, and maintaining company branding.


  • Supports and manages overall project documentation.


  • Ensures regular photo documentation is being conducted.


  • Ensures changes or field as-built are documented with the design team.


  • Supports team in OAC and weekly Progress Meetings.


  • Manages overall implementation and compliance of the SWPPP.


  • Ensures all utility locates have been completed prior to any required excavations.


  • Ensures building control points are established and communicated appropriately with trade partners.


  • Assists with ensuring FWD's are in place ahead of any extra work being started.


  • Ensures project site is clean, organized and representative of McCownGordon expectations.


  • Organizes and executes punch list process and assists with close out.





Relationships



  • Builds and maintains superior relationships with clients, design team, trade partners, and associates.


  • Participates in community and professional associations.


  • Represents the company in a professional manner at all times.


  • Proactively addresses issues/conflicts and follows through to positive resolution.


  • Represents Company as liaison for all project site visitors.


  • Develops and promotes a high performing team.





Schedule Management



  • Supports the overall schedule management process to ensure schedules are updated, complete and accurate in accordance with procedures, and policies.


  • Assists with change control process, including impact analysis and documentation.


  • Monitors adherence to project schedule milestones identifying risk items and deviations.


  • Manages and coordinates Trade Partners, vendors and site staff on a weekly /monthly / quarterly basis.


  • Assists with master schedule updates ensuring delays are properly documented.


  • Ability and/or effectively works in the scheduling software.





Risk Management & Mitigation Plan(s)



  • Demonstrates understanding of the owner contract, trade partner contract, and COIs.


  • Develops an understanding of owner contract, risk, deliverables, and terms and conditions.


  • Assists with overall delay documentation processes.


  • Supports the project specific risk mitigation plan.





Budget Management



  • Assists with the self-perform, GCs/GRs, and Logistics Center budgets.


  • Supports the cost reconciliation process with project management team monthly.


  • Assists with weekly labor and material reports.


  • Reviews with project management to determine if trade partner's monthly billing are accurate.


  • Reconciles Field Work Directives on a weekly basis with project manager.





MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


  • 3+ years' experience in the construction industry


  • Basic knowledge of personal computer and e-mail applications.


  • Proven ability to accurately schedule construction activities or projects.


  • Demonstrated success in effectively managing safety on projects.


  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contract documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, trade partners, or associates.


  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
