The Rendering Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient flow of raw materials into quality finished products, while also managing the wastewater pretreatment system. This role involves leading a team of rendering operators, ensuring the efficient and safe execution of rendering processes, and maintaining high standards of product quality and compliance with industry regulations. The Rendering Supervisor will coordinate daily activities, monitor equipment performance, implement process improvements, and address any operational or technical issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the timely and efficient flow of raw materials into quality finished products as well as maintaining compliance regulations in the wastewater department
Ensure equipment and buildings are maintained and in good repair to facilitate smooth operations.
Familiarize with and enforce all company safety rules and regulations
Prioritize safety as the top company priority and set an example for employees
Monitor individual performance to ensure adherence to high standards and procedures
Address any deviations promptly to maintain product quality
Ensure the quality of all finished products and investigate any reasons for loss of quality
Implement corrective measures to maintain high-quality standards
Learn and utilize INFOR system and iPad for work orders, preventive maintenance, and inventory management
Perform machine repair, installation, and troubleshooting activities as required
Communicate effectively in verbal and written forms
Collaborate with operators and maintenance personnel to address operational needs promptly
Maintain composure in difficult situations and adapt to changing circumstances
Display flexibility and resilience in addressing challenges

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship
Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Proficiency in basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to operate and troubleshoot various equipment and systems, including cooking systems, and waste treatment systems
Strong organizational skills, time management abilities, and attention to detail
Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes quickly
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment preferred
Works well with others in a team environment
Dependable; reliable; ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed
Strong industrial maintenance background and problem solving
Experience with maintenance management system, Infor/EAM
Previous experience in meat industry rendering & waste pre-treatment
Bi-lingual (speaking, reading, and writing). Fluency in Spanish, Karenni, French, & Creole is highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High temp, continuous rendering systems
DAF wastewater pre-treatment experience
Ability to attend work consistently
Must be able to withstand long periods in cold, warm, or wet/damp environments.
Maintain a clean work area
Be adaptable and dependable with the ability to follow direction and work in cooperation with others
Ability to perform consistent, accurate work minimal direction and work successfully as part of a team

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects. Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for 8 hours and work 12 hour shifts occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
