AT&T is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead I/O Psychologist to join our team. This role leads the performance management and assessment processes. The successful candidate will apply industrial-organizational psychology principles to enhance employee performance, develop robust policies and processes, and ensure the strategic alignment of our assessment practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance (60%):
Policy & Process:
Develop and refine performance management policies and processes to ensure they are aligned with organizational goals and best practices.
Maintain a clear structure for performance ratings, addressing both 'What' (results) and 'How' (behaviors) aspects.
Roadmap and Strategy:
Create and implement a strategic roadmap for performance management, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.
Lead the objective setting, mid-year, and end-of-year performance review processes.
Documentation and Communications (Change Management):
Develop comprehensive documentation and communication plans to support change management initiatives related to performance management.
Ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the change process.
Workday Needs Determination and Issues (Enhancement Requests):
Identify and address needs and issues related to the Workday system, including enhancement requests.
Collaborate with IT and HR teams to ensure the Workday system supports performance management processes effectively.
Assessment (40%):
Management of Assessments & Test Manual Updating:
Manage the portfolio of assessments, ensuring they are utilized effectively to address business needs.
Update and maintain test manuals to reflect current best practices and organizational needs.
Validation/Revalidation of Assessments:
Lead the validation and revalidation processes for existing assessments to ensure their reliability and validity.
Use empirical data to support the continued use or modification of assessments.
Creation/Sourcing of New Assessments (Initiatives):
Develop or source new assessments to meet emerging organizational needs and strategic initiatives.
Ensure new assessments are scientifically sound and aligned with organizational goals.
Client Relationship:
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients to understand their needs and provide tailored assessment solutions.
Justify the use of assessments through data-driven insights and partnership with key stakeholders.
Strategic Direction, Approach Redefinition of Assessments:
Provide strategic direction for the organization's assessment approach, ensuring it remains relevant and effective.
Redefine assessment strategies as needed to align with changing organizational priorities.
Defense of Assessments:
Defend the validity and reliability of assessments in internal and external forums, including legal and regulatory contexts.
Prepare and present evidence to support the use of assessments in various scenarios.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in an I/O psychology role, with a focus on performance management and assessment.
Proven expertise in developing and validating assessments, as well as managing performance processes.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
A track record of successfully implementing evidence-based HR initiatives that drive organizational performance.
Our Lead I/O Psychologist earns between $118,800 - $166,319, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
