SUMMARY



While performing in the role of medical assistant, provides knowledge, expertise and guidance to the healthcare team. In a patient-centered manner, assists with providing clinical and clerical support to medical providers, in collaboration with nursing and medical support staff, in a medical office setting.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Within the Medical Assistant Lead Capacity:

  • Applies mastery of skills in area of specialization

  • Coordinates Clinical Orientation and learning activities/training for new staff members

  • Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity

  • Regularly monitors that clinical policies and protocols are being carried out per design

  • Under supervision of practice manager/leader, may assist with other MA performance appraisals and/or performance management

  • Participates in the creation of office level workflows

  • Maintains communication with Practice Manager/leader. Keeps Practice Manager/leader updated regarding status of problem and problem solving

LOCATION: Unity Pulmonary Medicine



SCHEDULE: M- F (7:30 am - 4:00 pm)



ATTRIBUTES



  • 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required

  • If, Medical Assisting degree is not held, one of the below certifications are required: American Registered Medical Assistant Certification (ARMA) OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA) OR Certified Medical Assistant Certification (CMA)


RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Patient Care & Physician Assistance. Room patients in a timely fashion, complete patient work-up, obtain vital signs, assist physicians with procedures; manage physician orders and complete appropriate forms/requests; report issues to a licensed staff member when necessary


  • Maintenance. Ensure treatment rooms are stocked as needed; update and maintain patients' e-record


  • Compliance. Adhere to required department and system protocols, HIPAA regulations and local, state and federal requirements


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.



PAY RANGE: $18.50 - $23.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
