WWTP OPERATORSalem Utilities Department has an opening for a Wastewater Treatment Operator.Title: Wastewater Operator
Summary:
*Follow written and verbal instructions per assigned supervisor.
* Operator is subject to emergency call out and is required to respond.
*Maintain all licenses and certificates from OEPA and stay current on continuing education.

Qualification Requirements: All potential applicants must possess a minimum of a high school diploma, or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. If hired, any applicant that does not currently possess a valid Ohio EPA Wastewater License must obtain a valid Class 1 License within three (3) years of their date-of-hire. All potential candidates will be subject to a drug test prior to employment.
Education and/or Experience:
* Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
*Secondary education in chemistry, engineering or biology & sciences is not required but is a plus
* Current Ohio EPA Wastewater Treatment License preferred but not necessary
Scheduling: This position will primarily be second shift but can change due to unforeseen events and emergencies. Salem Utilities Department is designed for a twenty-four (24) hour per day, seven (7) day per week operation. Shift changes, weekends and holidays, overtime and call-ins are required as necessary.
Wages: All operator positions are part of the collective bargaining agreement and as such are paid accordingly to said agreement based on active Ohio EPA license qualifications.
