Overview

NYU's Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity available for an Assistant Director for the Breakthrough and Berkley Achievement Scholars Programs. The Assistant Director will oversee day-to-day operations and programming, focusing on college transition, academic success, life skills, leadership development, and professional growth, for students within the NYU Breakthrough and Berkley Achievement Scholars Programs. The selected candidate will design and deliver developmental learning experiences for program participants including scholar retreats, summer institute, seminars, workshops, professional programs, and social activities, and interact regularly with program participants conducting one-on-one advising and coaching sessions with students. Activities will take place on some evenings and weekends. The Assistant Director will collaborate with colleagues at Stern and across NYU to align developmental activities with program goals and ensure a seamless transition for students as they advance toward graduation. They will oversee programmatic and student-level data management, analyze and present results to leadership with recommendations for improvements, and collaborate on program evaluation, research, and large-scale events including the summer institute, supporting the goals of Sterns Undergraduate College and the Office for Diversity Inclusion. The selected candidate will also contribute to strategic planning and regular goal setting for the NYU Stern Breakthrough and Berkley Achievement Scholarship Programs.



Responsibilities

The selected candidate must have a bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience in program development and coordination in a university, educational institution, or youth development program or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, program, and project management skills are required. Research capabilities, the ability to work in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment, the ability to set goals and implement strategies for achieving them, the ability to work with diverse stakeholders, and a commitment to advancing college access and success are also required.



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,200.00 to USD $78,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
