Description:
Aquila's Fitness Program Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fitness and wellbeing programming and operations on a corporate client account. The Fitness Program Manager works together with on-site staff to create and implement strategic plans for a successful group fitness program, programming, initiatives, and strategies that support Aquila’s values and mission and ensure all contract deliverables are met. Areas of focus include: customer service, fitness and wellbeing programming, talent management, performance management, strategic thinking, leading and empowering others.
The work hours are Monday through Friday. Candidates must be able to work both 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. on alternating days. The pay rate is $27.88/hour which is $58,000 annually when working 40 hours a week, plus personal training commissions.

As a Fitness Program Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Directs and coordinates health and fitness center operations utilizing knowledge of established policies, procedures and practices for optimum efficiency and economy.
Tracks participant and program data for measurement of individual and program goal achievement, outcomes and results; creates outcomes focused management reports based on the identified business plan goals and objectives.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities for 1-2 direct reports in accordance with Aquila policies, procedures and applicable laws including: recruiting, orienting, training, evaluating, developing and planning the succession of staff.Plans, assigns and directs work assignments to ensure staff remain challenged and productivity is maximized; provides training and development opportunities to promote and encourage career growth.
Leads and develops team through positive coaching; ensures all staff is properly trained and holds the appropriate certifications necessary for safe and effective program delivery; provides continuous feedback and coaching to all program staff to ensure quality of all programs and services being delivered.Conducts formal performance reviews on an annual basis and initiates formal correction action process when warranted.
Submits employment forms, payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to contract provisions and Aquila policies.
Evaluates current procedures, practices, and precedents for accomplishing health and fitness center goals and objectives.
Identifies and addresses operational challenges; develops and implements alternative methods for work improvement.
Reviews health and fitness centers audit reports to ensure operational efficiency and quality control.
Develops relationships with members, clients and key contract clients to promote goodwill and generate new business.
Interprets and disseminates policy to staff and regularly assesses employee performance.
Provides emergency relief coverage for group fitness class instruction and/or personal training in the absence of staff.
Provides coaching to personnel, stimulate creativity and lead through good example.
Implements ACSM programming guidelines, identifying high-risk clients and special populations; conduct fitness assessments and exercise prescriptions.
Implements and designs wellness and fitness programs, worksite health promotion programs (where applicable), health fairs and internal and external programming promotional activities including seminars, member incentive and retention programs.
Responsible for facilitation of the Aquila internship program all locations associated with the client contract.
Lead, instruct, and motivate individuals or groups in exercise activities, including cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and stretching.
Responsible for monthly operational/financial reports and analyzing trends relating to facility and program usage.
Additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
B.S or M.S. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or in related health and fitness field
