The Grants and Contracts Administrator (GCA) is responsible for sponsored project administration, and managing and forecasting ORPRN’s financial outlook. ORPRN is funded by federal and state grants and contracts, and the GCA develops and utilizes multiple management tools to build awareness of ORPRN’s financial health and identify and anticipate funding gaps. The GCA maintains an intimate understanding of ORPRN funding sources, and working knowledge of OHSU’s various accounting systems, including Oracle Grants Accounting, General Ledger, Cognos, University Financial Outlook (UFO), OHSU Foundation Accounting, and the annual budget system.
The GCA supports ORPRN program directors in building project budgets and reviewing data to optimize staffing forecasts. The GCA also supports individual grant and contract teams to ensure grants and contracts are successful and follow sponsor and university policies and guidance.
The GCA meets regularly with ORPRN’s leadership to provide key financial data to inform decision making and strategic planning.
Seven years of grants and contracts administration experience, OR
Certification from the Society of Research Administrators (CRA), AND Five years of experience in grants and contracts administration.
Highly proficient use of PC including database and spreadsheet applications.
Intermediate spreadsheet skills, including complex functions, formulas, and formatting.
Experience with relational databases.
Understanding of financial reporting concepts such as cost accounting and net present value analysis
Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to explain financial concepts simply, and consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature
