Job Description:

GENERAL SUMMARY / OVERVIEW STATEMENT:



The Cancer Center Protocol Office (CCPO) provides essential support for clinical investigators and their patients through patient recruitment, regulatory compliance, data collection, financial organization, administrative support, and other vital services.


Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the Financial Coordinator provides administrative assistance to the Finance Management team and the Finance Analysts in all aspects of research study charge review, invoicing, compliance, reconciliation, and budget development.


Responsibilities include:


- Research billing review in EPIC medical records software. Daily detailed analyses of clinical trial budgets and accounts to ensure that all charges are routed correctly in EPIC for appropriate bill routing.


- Review, correction, and communication of charge-related errors.


- Invoicing of study sponsors for study-related services.


- Conduct various internal reconciliations.


- Provide analysis and feedback on processes and workflows to maintain and improve accuracy and timeliness of billing.


- Manage ad hoc projects as assigned.


- Perform needs assessment, financial analyses, and productivity analyses as they relate to department and organizational initiatives.


- Effectively interact with all levels of research study team as necessary.



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School diploma required, Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.

  • Ability to provide support in a high volume, fast-paced, professional environment.

  • Strong organizational and professional communication (oral and written) skills are essential.

  • Accuracy and detailed orientation are essential. Must be adaptable and able to prioritize workflow.

  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office required with emphasis in Excel, knowledge of Access a plus.

  • Ability to apply billing requirements/regulations to the clinical research charge review workflow.

  • Fluency in Medical Language highly desirable.

  • Previous clinical research or ICD-10, CPT, or HCPCS medical coding/billing experience or certification highly desirable.

  • Interest in data analytics a plus.
