What You'll Do:
Setup and run laboratory experiments.
Handle pressurized equipment/gas and chemicals/test solutions (some environments will be hazardous, such as H2 and H2S - thorough safety training will be provided)
Analyze test data.
Identify knowledge gaps associated with materials compatibility and performance, source industry partners, and develop testing programs to determine solutions
Perform tasks on projects relating to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis. This includes experimental setup, data collection, and reporting.
Interact with customers, develop testing plans/proposals, present test results, and develop new customers.
Provide project update to customers and write reports for completed projects.
Work in one or more areas of technical expertise to develop the capability of taking on the responsibilities of a Project Manager Present research through technical journals and/or conference symposia.
Participate in industry consortia, committees, and/or organizations
Follow the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance program on projects.

What is Required:
Engineering degree (M.Sc or Ph.D.) in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Corrosion, or Mechanical Engineering
Five (5) or more years of laboratory testing experience
Experience in project management, with understanding of technical interfaces and project finance management
Experience running fatigue crack growth and fracture toughness tests
Ability to identify new research areas in a quickly changing energy industry
Demonstrates strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset with the capacity to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment alongside diverse individuals, including clients and colleagues
Willingness and ability to travel, up to 5% of the time
Ability to regularly lift 25lbs and wear a respirator
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
